Where: Lighting Research Center (LRC) 21 Union Street, Troy, NY
Description: The Lighting Research Center is recruiting subjects over age 65 with Early Awakening Insomnia, inability to stay awake after 8 pm and waking up before 4 am, for a paid study. Studies run on a rolling basis; participants can start and end anytime. Each participant can choose their own start date. No travel is necessary. Subjects wear a mask while sleeping to deliver a light treatment each night for 2 weeks. Then, for 4 weeks, subjects simply wear a small, light measuring device. Payment is $700.

TLA's are graduate students that can assist undergraduates with tutoring in many of the Core Engineering Math and Science courses, as well as provide advice on other academic-related subjects. TLA office hours in the Hub are Mondays 12pm-2pm and 4pm-6pm, Tuesdays 2pm-4pm, Wednesdays 12pm-2pm and 3pm-5pm, and Thursdays 1pm-3pm. Feel free to drop by!

Participants won’t be rewarded for their ability to use CAD or write a convincing executive summary or perform the perfect sales pitch. Description: Troy Compost has been organizing a number of big composting initiatives in Troy, such as the Farmer's Market foodscraps collection, a project that diverts food waste from landfills to get composted at local farms instead. Volunteering with us is a 2-hour, low-intensity, educational gig that does good work for a community organization, local farms, and the Troy waste stream.
